Statistics By Cameron

Today in Math we learnt about statistics. Not many of us knew what statistics were but when Miss Slater told us that its just gathering and comparing information we found it really easy. An activity we had to do was ask every one in the class if they liked something on a tally sheet e.g Pizza, Nachos, Chocolate, Salad or Other etc, they would answer we would put a tally (a short line) in that section. We went around the class asking people for there answers on the tally but it got pretty confusing as we forgot who we had asked. Miss Slater then asked us what made the test fair or unfair. We realised that our data would be incorrect if we hadn't followed the rules below. We then came up with a set of rules for a fair statistics test:

- Ask a set amount of people (a group of people that relate to your question)
- Don't ask the same person twice
- If you are being asked the same question by two different people, don't change your answer
- Listen carefully to what people are asking you
